Happy holidays everyone :) It's a little over a week until christmas and I'm still not done shopping but I can't neglect baking!! This past weekend my cousin had a housewarming/house blessing. Her home is absolutely gorgeous! Anyways, I baked her a small little flower pot plant. It's my first time "carving" a cake. It looked waaaaaaaaaaaay too easy during class, ie Cake Boss/Fabulous Cakes/Wedding Cake shows hehe, so I decided to give it a try.
I started at about 12:30am. On the way home I was discussing my "game plan" with the bf. It seemed so simple. Bake the cake, dirty ice it, chill it, carve it, dirty ice it again then fondant it. Simple, yahhh??? um no. I literally went to bed at 5am the next morning. It was totally worth it though. If anyone appreciates baking as an art, or baking period it hassssssssss to be my cousin Ame. She gets me, therefore she gets this cake ;-) Love u.
enjoy the eye candy:
She then facebooked me her cutting into it:
womp womp. it was awesome. i'm officially, totally, utterly in love with carving cakes. it was messy, it was challenging, it's gonna be appearing here more often!
Until next time....
xoxo,

Most delish cake! It took me 2 whole days to cut it because it was so pretty!. It was the highlight of the dessert table. We have been eating this cake for breakfast for a week now. Btw- when did you start calling me Ame? lol. Come bake in my kitchen any day!!! <3 Pola
I think this was my favorite cake, even though i didn't get to taste it. I like it the most probably because it was the most creative cake you've done. - A Secret Admirer
